We arrived safe and sound at Water Park by 11:15 a.m and we were soon ready and eager for action. After a few battles putting on wetsuits, buoyancy aids and waterproofs, we were on the water by 12:45 p.m with two groups kayaking and another group going on a voyage to Peel Island where the children played different variations of hide and seek. After our lovely evening meal and pudding, the children ventured off on a night time walk into the nearby woods. They climbed to the top of one of the smaller mountains where they had the opportunity to view the stars! A fantastic first day at Water Park :)
The children have had a fantastic second day at Water Park. They were up early to make their sandwiches and enjoy a breakfast of eggs, bacon and beans with toast. One group worked on the ghyll in the morning whilst the other two groups tackled a variety of climbing activities including the high ropes, Peter Pan, the tall tree and the indoor climbing wall. After a tasty lunch, the children were ready to start their second activity of the day. One group spent the afternoon inside on the indoor climbing wall and the other two groups spent the afternoon on the ghyll. The children showed brilliant teamwork and a positive attitude when tackling all of the new challenges and activities. The children enjoyed a dinner of fish, chips and peas followed by jelly and ice cream. The children finished the evening with a game of Aliens outside in the school grounds.
6D Day 1
After a delicious lunch of soup and sandwiches, everyone ventured onto the lake for an afternoon of fun! Two groups went kayaking and the other group went voyaging up to Peel Island. They played hide and seek on Peel Island followed by a drink of hot chocolate. The journey back was hard work, compromised by the strong winds. For tea we had homemade lasagne and garlic bread followed by jam sponge and custard - delicious! With our tummies full, we ventured off for a night walk through the woods and onto the hills. Turning off our torches, we appreciated the sounds of the wildlife and the beauty of the countryside. At suppertime, the children had hot chocolate and biscuits in their pyjamas before heading off to bed after a great day.
6D Day 2
What an amazing day 6D had at Water Park! We started the day with a cooked breakfast before heading out for our activities. One group had a lesson in rearing sheep and the different breeds of sheep before they went ghyll scrambling at Tibblethwaite. Fun was had by all! Two groups headed up to Peel Island on the voyager. They played hide and seek and sardines! In the afternoon, the children went ghyll scrambling and Mr Spaven swam most of the way! One group did a range of high rope activities finishing off with the ultimate task – Leap of Faith. As you can imagine, it was rather high up. We were so proud of the children as they showed great determination in taking the plunge of launching themselves off the ledge. After a delicious roast dinner followed by apple crumble, we hunted for some aliens which had appeared in the grounds of Water Park – what a great evening we had!!
